    Cybernetic research center consists of 4 institutions and is the part of the National academy of Science in Ukraine. More than 400 researches in 26 departments work in the center. Cybernetic research center is involved country's largest research projects in different spheres including aerospace industry, financial and economic country wide modeling, national defense (balistic rockets, surveillance satellites), health care.

    Primary directions of scientific research in Cybernetic center:

    • Mathematical modeling and numerical methods
    • Calculus of variations and theory of optimal control
    • Operations research and games theory
    • Systems analysis and optimization
    • information technologies

    Cybernetic research center is famous for series of fundamental discoveries as well as development of applied systems that are used in state ministries in order to solve economic, national defense, ecological problems of Ukraine. One of the latest achivements of Cybernetic research center is the creation of multifunctional modeling system "Budget of Ukraine". Its purpose is the solution of budget and financial forecasting problems and the macroeconomic analysis in order to improve economic policy of the country.

    Another bright example of numerous achievements of Cybernetic research center is the system of artificial intelligence data analysis CONFOR (CONcept FORmation). CONFOR designed to function in the environment of "information explosion". CONFOR is capable to analyze terabytes of information in search for dependencies, information clasification and outcome forecasting.

    The most powerful super computers of Ukraine a located in the Cybernetic research center. The fasters super computer containts 125 cluster nodes, total number of processor cores 252, 1000 GB of memory, storage 25 TB, peak performance 6500 GFlops.

    The original Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, founded by Kiev Metropolitan Petro Mohyla in 1615, was one of the most distinguished and earliest among higher educational institutions in Eastern Europe. Its aim was to master the intellectual skills and learning of contemporary Europe. Taking his most dangerous adversary as his model, Petro Mohyla adopted the organizational structure, the teaching methods, and the curriculum of the Jesuit schools. An objective in establishing this type of school was to raise the standard of Eastern European education to Western European degrees of excellence. From its beginnings, this school was conceived by its founder and first rectors as an institution of higher learning, offering philosophy and theology courses and supervising a network of secondary schools. The academic program was based on the liberal arts and was organized into fourteen grades.

    According to the independent ranking of 228 universities in Ukraine performed by Compas, NaUKMA was ranked second best in Ukraine regarding the adequacy of alumni to the labor market of Ukraine. Likewise, the university's business school has the best reputation in the country. The Delovoy magazine ranked it as the best business school in Ukraine in 2007. NaUKMA was ranked as number four in the ranking "Top-200 Ukraine" conducted by UNESCO in 2007.

    Science at NaUKMA is organized into six faculties, 29 departments and 24 research centers. The main focus of research at the NaUKMA is in the fields of economics, law and humanities. Many faculty members hold permanent positions at the research institutes of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine.

    National Taras Shevchenko university of Kyiv is an institution of higher education that trains specialists in many fields of knowledge and carries out research.     Department of applied mathematics is one of the oldest department in the university. Here the world famous scientific schools on algebra, differential equations, probability theory, mechanics are functioning.

    National technical university of Ukraine "KPI" was founded in 1898. KPI is the largest major technical university of Ukraine. For the history of more than 100 years hundred thousands students completed their education in KPI. The most notable alumnus are Mendeelev - author of periodic table of chemical elements, Paton - inventor of welding, Tetelbaum - pioneer in electronic design automation, rocket scientist Korolyov, Sikorsky - creator of helicopter. Total personel of KPI exceeds 50 thousands. The square of KPI campus is almost 2 square kilometers. KPI offers 68 majors and 70 minors. The university provides tutition in the following areas: electronic instrument engineering, cybernetics, computer engineering, electric power engineering, electroacoustics, hydroacoustics, microprocessors, radioengineering, physical engineering departments, metals and alloys and many others. Most of professor staff hold doctorate degrees in hard science and publishes more than 2200 papers per year in most respected scientific journals.

    Latest scientific achievements: developments in the field of supercapacitors, wireless telecomunication systems based on microwaves, advances in the field of alternative sources of energy.
